Gusto Ventures is a family-run importing business born out of passion for food and wine. Andrea Mills, the founder of Gusto Ventures, was born and raised in the historic town of Mantova in Northern Italy and moved to Texas in early 2007. He realized that he could not find the same quality and variety of the wonderful food that he enjoyed every day at home, and that the selection of Italian wines offered no excellent selections with a reasonable price.
His wife, Nancy Cailleteau Mills was born and raised in Texas, where she worked in the food and beverage industry for 10 years. After earning her MBA at Thunderbird, Nancy then lived in Italy for 5 years, where she learned the secret to real Italian food as opposed to the kind served in most restaurants outside of Italy: the quality of the ingredients. It is not that in the U.S. people want to serve less-than-the-best anything, but typically sourcing decisions are based on:
- Cost - often the best ingredients have a premium and prohibitive price
- Availability - many of the best products have not been available in Texas
- Lack of Local Knowledge - the best-kept secrets of Italy are hard to find

At Gusto Ventures, we take the best of our intimate knowledge of off-the-beaten path tastes from Italy, and deliver it to your door. We bring selected gourmet productions sourced directly from small, niche producers not known in U.S. Our clients have the pride of knowing that they are serving the best of the best; products that have been hand-selected by discriminating and very knowledgeable palates. These are all smaller production, unique delicacies that cannot be found elsewhere. Given that they come straight from the source, the prices are reasonable and competitive. Most of our products are organic and many of our producers have won awards for high quality.
By sourcing directly we can guarantee you the highest quality standards, at very competitive prices. Our clients often enjoy discounts of 10 to 30% off the products they normally buy, and are getting much higher quality.

Furthermore there is the satisfaction of knowing we are supporting the local smaller producers, themselves family businesses, which are getting squeezed out of business by the huge industrial consortia that undercut the quality and sell at cut-throat prices. These inferior products then pass through several levels of distribution before they land at the retailer, who has paid more for them than he should. At Gusto Ventures, we are reversing that trend and bringing in the best products, made with love and gusto.
